Hawks Win!

The Laguna-Acoma High School cross-country team delivered an outstanding performance at the Ramah Mustang Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 12, earning first place in the boys varsity division against nine teams.

Three LAHS runners finished among the top four. N. Vicente placed second with a time of 19:21, followed closely by T. Lewis in third at 19:24 and A. Vallo in fourth at 19:37. T. Garcia finished 16th in 21:38, while D. Analla placed 17th with a time of 21:49.

Representing the LAHS girls, M. Smith also had a strong showing, finishing seventh with a time of 24:31.

The results reflect the athletes’ hard work, growing confidence and commitment to competing as a team. Laguna-Acoma High School and the entire Grants/Cibola County Schools community congratulate the runners and thank their coaches, families and supporters for encouraging them every step of the way.

The Hawks will look to build on their early-season success as they continue to have “Higher Expectations for Everyone.”
