GRANTS - On Friday, February 3rd, the Lady Pirates and Pirates took on the Belen Eagles and both teams came away with a win.
The 9th-ranked Pirates were at home and posted a huge win over the Eagles 81-52,sending the Pirates to 14-8 overall and 2-2 in District 5-4A games.
On the other hand, the Lady Pirates got their first District win of the season after losing five straight, and they are now 4-17 on the season and 1-3 in District contests.
The Pirates and Lady Pirates will be back in action on Friday, February 9, when they will be taking on the Valencia Jaguars in another big District game.
The Valencia boys are 11-10 on the season and also 0-3 in District play, and are currently in a two-game losing streak. One of the Jaguars’ losses came at the hands of Grants, during both teams’ first District game of the season.
The Lady Jaguars are 12-9 on the season and 1-2 in District 5-4A; they defeated the Lady Pirates earlier this season.
