📣 Homecoming Dance Dress Attire Clarification
We’ve heard some rumors about the Homecoming Dance, and we want to make sure everyone has the correct information!
🎉 ALL GHS students are welcome and encouraged to attend Homecoming!
There is NO requirement to wear formal attire to attend the dance. Students are welcome to dress in attire that makes them feel comfortable and ready to celebrate Homecoming, including:
👗 Dresses and skirts
👔 Dress shirts, Polos, and other tops
👖 Pants, Slacks, and jeans
🥾 Boots, Shoes, and other appropriate footwear
✨ Formal, semi-formal, or casual Homecoming attire (If you desire)
As with any school-sponsored event, students are expected to wear clothing that is appropriate for a school setting.
Most importantly, we want our students to have a great time, make memories, and enjoy Homecoming together. ❤️🖤

ATTENTION GCCS FAMILIES!
GCCS school buses will operate as normal on Wednesday, September 30.
However, due to persistent rainfall over the past several days, we understand that road conditions in some rural surrounding areas may be muddy or unsafe.
If your student lives in a rural area and is unable to safely travel to school due to road conditions, they will be excused from attendance.
Please use your best judgment and prioritize safety when making travel decisions.

Due to the rising water at the Seama Bridge and the significant rainfall we have been experiencing on the Laguna Pueblo and in Cibola County, Laguna Governor Antonio has requested that all Laguna students be released to their parents/guardians.
This request is being made as a precaution to help ensure the safety of our students and their families as weather and road conditions continue to develop.
Parents/guardians are asked to make arrangements to pick up their students. Please follow the school’s regular student checkout procedures upon arrival. Buses will run on a regular schedule.

Dear Grants High School Families and Staff,
Please be advised that due to a maintenance issue on campus, Grants High School will transition to an asynchronous learning day tomorrow, Tuesday, September 29th. This change applies exclusively to Grants High School; all other schools within the district will operate on their normal schedules.
To ensure continuity of learning, all students are expected to log into their online classes tomorrow to receive and complete their assignments for the day.
Please note that scheduled IEP meetings will proceed as planned, but they will be temporarily relocated to the District Office.
We appreciate your flexibility and cooperation as our teams resolve this matter. Additional updates will be shared as they become available throughout the day.

Due to the unseasonably heavy monsoon rains, the bonfire field is currently too wet and muddy to safely allow trucks and vehicles to access the area.
After consulting with GHS Administration, GCCS, and our Maintenance team, we have made the difficult decision to postpone this year’s Homecoming Bonfire.
We know this is a special GHS tradition, and we will continue looking for an opportunity to reschedule it later this school year if conditions allow.
Thank you for your understanding as we work to protect our facilities and preserve this great tradition.

GHS conducts safety drills, crisis response exercises, simulations, and health and safety awareness activities to help students practice emergency procedures, improve preparedness, build awareness of important health and safety issues, and develop real-world decision-making skills.
Some activities may include realistic emergency scenarios or emotionally intense themes that may be challenging for some students.

Parents and guardians who do not want their student participating in eligible high-impact or realistic crisis simulations may request an Emergency Preparedness & Awareness Event Opt-Out Form from the Grants High School front office.
The form provides parents/guardians with the option to request that their student be excused from eligible activities.
⚠️ Please note: Routine, state-required safety drills, including standard fire, basic weather, and lockdown drills, are required for all students and are not subject to the opt-out form.
