On January 20, 2026, two of our seniors from Laguna-Acoma, Thanielle Lucero and Jacob
Cheromiah, attended the opening day of the 2026 Legislative session as guests of Senator
Angel Charley, who represents District 30 in the New Mexico State Senate.
The students sat with Senator Charley on the Senate floor and were formally introduced and
recognized during the session. Thanielle and Jacob were selected to accompany her based on
their strong academic performance, consistent attendance, and positive character.
We are glad they had the opportunity to represent their school, Laguna-Acoma High School,
and the GCCS district at this important event.
